We made it to Alaska!

We crossed the Alaska state line on Saturday afternoon and even though the scenery was similar to the Yukon, there was an immediate feeling that something was different and in some strange way -we were home! The entrance into our beloved homeland was currently under road construction and the dirt, gravel, and dust became a constant companion for many miles. You could take away all the modern cars and RV’s and our grimy little Fords and campers on the horrible roads would appear to be a scene straight out the movie “The Experts also suggest Gynecure capsules to achieve the prescription viagra without desired erection. All of these medicines start working viagra line within a period of 40 minutes and remain effective for 5 hours after intake. You are cheapest sildenafil uk living it proper now. These changes in turn promote hepatocyte apoptosis (cell levitra no prescription death). Grapes of Wrath”. On entering Alaska, the excitement of reaching a milestone and the accompanying sense of thankfulness to have driven so far and finally be on Alaska soil was almost overwhelming! Our camp site for the night will be in the town of Tok at the Sourdough Campground – home of sourdough flapjacks and reindeer sausage. We want to again thank everyone for all their prayers and support and PLEASE don’t stop now! We still have a lot of Alaska to see and many more new roads to cover.

  1. We are enjoying the photos and reading your blogs. We wish we were there with you. We want to see the concrete running shoes when you return. Ha.
We remember seeing a sign about “Mama Saga” last year when we drove through Nebraska.

Saturday the Brumfields and we ran the route to Moyers Winery to get ready for the club’s Aug.14th trip. Of course, we had to have lunch there. Delicious!

  2. Glad you’re back in the U.S.A. Keep the blog coming, we read it first thing every morning. We loved the photo of the two “A’s” in the campground with the other campers.

P.S. Who are those two old bearded guys with you all?

  3. congratulations!! we stayed at Tok’s Sourdough and I left my umbrella in the bathroom. Enjoy the rest of your trip.

  4. Hi Tammy and Danny! Becky and Matt told us about your adventure and we are thrilled for you and “pea green” with envy! It sounds as though you are having a terrific time – what memories you are making! I always wanted to get a camper but Skip was never interested. I think he would have changed his mind if he had lived to read of your adventures. I miss him. I now have a new man in my life and Dave is a life-long camper. I am now the proud owner of a 5th wheel and love camping. We are planning to “camp” our way to California in the fall to visit Skip’s sister. I am reading your blog with great interest – trying to learn some travel tips from you so that my big adventure will be trouble free!

Have fun, but come home soon- your future grandchildren await! By the way, my KY home is very close to Becky and Matt – please use it whenever you come to visit them. I think you will appreciate the space and privacy while still being within a very short drive to their home.

  5. Way to go!!! Do you feel you been away for three weeks? I constantly read your comments and wish we were with you. We sure miss you. We will be on the A/T tour this Saturday and I’m sure you all will be the main conversation point. Have fun in Alaska.

  6. Congratulations on reaching Alaska! We’ve just returned from our annual week-long tour with the Nickel Age Touring Club (missed French Lick) and looking forward to the A-T event on Saturday, but your adventures make all of that seem so tame.

    Tammy, watch out for bears!

  7. Congratulations, you made it! We are happy for you. Keep the stories and pictures coming, we look forward to seeing them each day. How did the aluminum heat shield work out? I believe I could have used one on the way to French Lick when the temperature hit 90+ degrees!

  8. We’ve really enjoyed your blogs. Thanks a lot! We stayed at the Tok campground, too. Delicious pancakes!

  9. Hello Tammy and Danny!!! You are having the most marvelous adventure!! The pictures are beautiful and you seem to be having a safe trip. So glad of that. Enjoy yourselves!! Matt and Becky are doing fine. Becky getting bigger and bigger and Matt the sweet, understanding doting husband! Will try to take picture of them and send to you. Hard to get them both together at the same time and when Becky is not taking a nap! I felt Connor (according to Beck) move Sunday nite. It sure will be an interesting fall. Things are going perfectly with the babies and mommy. They are just the size and everything they are supposed to be at this time. We pray for them and your safe return. I’m going to need you when the “Godbey boys” as Matt refers to them, arrive. Have fun and see ya in a couple of months. Love, Chuck and Donna

  10. Sorry haven’t had a chance to comment. Todd told me to get on here quick to check on you guys. Absolutely amazing photos, but I pray for your safe travels and you make it home safe. Toby can’t wait to meet the whole “gang”!
