Glacier National Park/Crossing the Canadian Border

012A wonderful day.  The Sun was shining when we left the campround in  Kalispell, Montana. We drove 190 miles today.  We went into the West Glacier entrance only to find out the “Going to the Sun Road” was closed half way.  We drove around the Glaciers with the snow peaked mountain surrounding us.  We drove into the East entrance and toured the grand old lodge of Glacier National Park. That lodge was just as impressive as the Old Faithful Lodge in Yellowstone.

Tonight we are in Canada.  I have some serious education to do with reading the Alaska Mile post and getting us from campground to campround.  The Canadian Border was a piece of cake.  Hope getting out of Canada is that easy.

I have a few pictures of the same areas, as my grandaughter, husband and a 7 month old and a 3 year old have been travelling out west, throught S.D, wyo,Mt,Utah, Minn, New Mexico. They are in St. Louis now. But they have a SUV and stay in motels. Cong. on your babies to be. We just returned from Branson, Mo. Good luck and God bless.

  2. Another great day on the road for you guys. The photos are great! Thought you’d like to know that we met the group heading to the national meet this morning and drove to Lawrenceburg with them. They’re off and running and looking forward to their week long adventure. I told them we were expecting a daily blog like our Alaska bound friends are providing, but I guess they aren’t quite up to your level of travel yet….maybe next time.

  3. I am so glad a stumbled on your site. Will be following your trip. I have always wanted to drive to Alaska so maybe in a couple of years when my wife and I retire.
